I am not exactly sure what is slowing my recovery down these days but I have to come up with a plan to handle situations like this. I was thinking about the following order:
1. Delaying the workout intraday
2. Backing off the pace to do the mileage
3. Taking a day off and completing the rest of the week as planned
4. Taking as many days off as needed, postponing the scheduled week until recovery is back on track, only easy runs until getting back on the schedule
My neck is stiff and my right leg is sending first signs of overuse. Somehow surprising considering I managed to run faster for 28 days in a row during the base level test. Maybe I haven't found the groove yet with respect to the other paces. Also the bit of racing last Wednesday definitely took a toll on my body.

I guess that is very true. Going through my above list I think I will start with point 1 today. Depending on how things look tonight I might even go directly to point 3. And hey, on top of it it's raining today...

In reply to your comment on my blog, yes, you are going to kick my arse tonight, especially with the rest under your belt. That's if this rain lets up and I actually go. I know you'll be there no matter what -- mud runner like you ;-)
Now, I have seen people mispell "lose" as "loose" many times, but this is the first time I've seen "loose" mispelled as "lose"! It just goes to show...(I dunno what it goes to show, but I'm sure there is something!)
Congrats on the day off.
At least I am quoting correctly ;-)
I think I'll avoid the tough encounter on the track with you tonight... I better to 8 miles at 4:12/k rather than killing myself on the oval.
Do I actually have to feel funny when people congratulate me on off days?? I should take a few more days off then! Easy credits.
Ah yes...sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the spelling mistake was yours. I did asssume you had quoted verbatim and was simply commenting n the novelty of that spelling error.
Missed you last night. My first 1000s in a long time. Incredibly laboured for the first couple, but managed to churn out a few well below 3:40, so happy enough in the end. You'd have enjoyed running 10 15 seconds ahead with Jay and the like.
Good stuff the 1000s mate! My wheels are about to fall off so I better dial back a little before things get worse. I think I am giving myself too much pressure which doesn't make much sense - I don't even have a target race in mind. What taking the risks for?
I also better reduce my recent bragging ;-)
